Say hello to my little friend...

So the catalyst of this whole process (after the incident of the beautiful $24.99 drastically on sale dresses at Macy's that didn't fit me and the expert nutritional advice of my mom) was finding a little application for my iPhone. I set out looking for a simple calorie counter, but what I found was something that has helped me stay on track with the carlories I take in, measures the calories I burn doing excercise, and tracks my weight loss. Say hello to My Fitness Pal!

This is what it looks like on iPhone. It incredibly convenient because you have instant access to thousands of calorie counts for fresh foods, fast food, fun foods, frightening foods...well, you get the idea. You can set your calorie limit (or goal...sounds a bit more positive) and once you put in what you've eaten, it's automatically deducted from your remaining calories. You can also put in which/how much excerise you've done, and it will automatically be added back in to your calorie count. (But no worries...you can still see how many calories are left of your original goal for that day.)
Now, you may be thinking...that's great, but I don't have an iPhone. Lucky for you, this tool is available online as well. Just go over to My Fitness Pal's website and get started. You'll be glad you did.
