almost

I think I way overpacked, but it's comforting...small thing to be in control of when so much is out of my control while I travel. I just hope it's not over 50 pounds...

I had convinced myself that I could make it just checking 1 bag, but today I convinced myself I needed to check 2, and I was right. The big one is almost entirely clothes, the smaller one is various and sundry things for teaching, plus a bunch of books. Heavy books. Eek.

I've been in contact with some missionaries in the Czech Republic, and feel so much more secure knowing that they'll be there and that I'll get to hang out with them and get the inside scoop on the work going on there. I didn't know this til today, but the Czech Republic is considered the most atheistic country in Europe, and the third most atheistic country in the world. That was startling to me - I had no idea. So I think that will be a very interesting contrast, considering that here we're in the Bible belt and most people at least believe God exists. I'm intrigued to see the type of work going on these countries and how these missionaries are impacting this dark, dark place with the light of Christ. Hoping that I'll be able to play a part in that, however small, during my short time there this month.

It may not be worth it at this point to sleep. Probably not because I think it might just make me sleepier and maybe ill. And that way I won't have to re-do my hair or make my bed. Sweet!
